  On June 19th the Arizona Open Land Trust and Pima County announced the protection of 290 acres of Cochie Canyon in the Tortolita Mountains
This project is the culmination of several years of conversations between the landowner and the Trust. Read more.
  Sunset Magazine Magazine names the Arizona Open Land Trust one of ten “Heroes of the West” for its protection of the Rancho Seco and Santa Lucia Ranch in the beautiful Altar Valley.  Together, the two contiguous ranches comprise 36,000 acres of working ranchland, of which 10,000 acres is owned by Pima County as part of its Ranch Conservation Element of the Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan.
