Charitable IRA Rollover

EBay
On October 3, 2008, Congress passed the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, which includes an extension of the IRA Charitable Rollover through the end of 2009. The Act allows individuals 70½ and older to donate up to $100,000 from their IRAs tax-free. If you are required to take a minimum annual distribution from your IRA account, consider transferring your distribution directly to the Trust.   If your company has a charity drive or an employee giving program, or is considering starting one, take a look at the Environmental Fund for Arizona (www.efaz.org), a coalition of Arizona's finest conservation and environmental non-profit groups. Your company can become a workplace partner on the Fund's website!   If you are a seller on EBay, you can now designate any portion of a sale to the non-profit organization of your choice through EBay's new online giving program. Visit www.missionfish.org to learn more.

Earth Friends
The Earth friends Wildlife Foundation has offered the Trust a renewed challenge grant for 2010. Our challenge is to raise $80,000 by December to support our Desert Rivers and Riparian Heritage Initiatives. Please make a generous gift today to help save wildlife habitat throughout southern Arizona! Every dollar you contribute will help to support desert riparian habitat by sustaining the quality and quantity of southern Arizona's river flows

At the Trust, our outlook is optimistic that a little foresight and support goes a long way.  The Trust has a lengthy track record of leveraging limited resources to make major conservation strides in southern Arizona.

Here are the reasons we conserve land:

  • Scenic vistas and rippling sunsets
  • Open spaces full of Saguaros and the bird and animal life they sustain
  • Knee-high desert grasslands sweeping us to the Sky Island mountain ranges
  • Desert streams, like the San Pedro River and Cienega Creek, which provide oases in the desert
  • Dark night skies that hold the stars

At the end of the day, the Trust has one goal in mind: preserve southern Arizona’s most important landscapes so future generations can also be awed by the region’s Western allure.
